This Data Retention Policy explains how long Nomrade retains different types of user data, why we retain it, and how you can request deletion of your data. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy.
2. Data Retention Schedule
The following table outlines our standard retention periods for different categories of data:

3. Third-Party Platform Data
3.1 Social Media Content
When you save content from social media platforms to Nomrade:
- We store the post URL and embed metadata (title, description, images, creator handle)
- Content is displayed using official embed APIs (such as oEmbed)
- If the original post is deleted by its creator, our cached metadata may remain but the embedded content will no longer display
- You can delete saved content at any time from your Nomrade account
- Content remains until you delete it or delete your account
4. Account Deletion
To delete your account: Open the Nomrade app and go to Settings → Account Management → Delete Account. You will have a 30-day grace period to recover your account before permanent deletion.
When you delete your Nomrade account:
4.1 Immediately Deleted
- OAuth tokens and third-party connections
- Friend connections and pending requests
- Private trails and collections
4.2 Deleted Within 30 Days
- Account information (email, username, profile)
- Meal logs and nutrition history
- Saved content and embed metadata
- Saved places and location data
- Quest participation records
- Dietary preferences and settings
4.3 Retained After Deletion
- Audit Logs: Administrative actions are retained for legal compliance
- Aggregated Analytics: Non-identifiable usage statistics
5. Data Deletion Requests
You can request deletion of your data by:
- In-App: Go to Settings → Account Management → Delete Account
- Email: Send a request to support@nomrade.com with subject "Data Deletion Request"
- Specific Content: Delete individual items (saved content, meals, places) directly in the app
5.1 Processing Time
- Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days
- Individual content deletion is immediate
- You will receive email confirmation when deletion is complete
6. Legal Basis for Retention
We retain data based on the following legal grounds:
- Contract: Data necessary to provide our services to you
- Consent: Data you've explicitly agreed to provide
- Legitimate Interest: Data needed for security, fraud prevention, and service improvement
- Legal Obligation: Data we're required to keep by law
7. Security During Retention
All retained data is protected by:
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- Row-level security policies limiting data access
- Regular security audits
- Access controls restricting employee access
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Data Retention Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised.
